What can you use the app for?

Happytables is a restaurant website builder. Restaurant owners can create a professional looking web space to share with their customers. Users can build a food menu and share it online using unique designs. The website design itself can be customized as well, with individual colors and images to show the restaurant’s logo or brand. Social media tools are built in so users can integrate their Facebook and Twitter profiles with their businesses’ website. Each website created with Happytables is automatically optimized for mobile devices. Search engine optimization is also included. Event management tools are available and allow the user to create a new event for their restaurant or import events directly from Facebook.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Happytables was founded in February of 2012. The application existed as early as 2010 under a different name and with a different focus. The original version was called Theme Force and offered WordPress themes for restaurants and other food service businesses. The success of Theme Force pushed owner Noel Tock to create a tool that had a wider scope and would offer more functionality to users. The result is the popular Happytables, which is currently used by numerous restaurants.

What are the differences to other apps?

An internet user doesn’t have to travel far to find a website builder tool. Happytables is one such tool with a specialized purpose. The application stands out because it caters specifically to those in the food service industry, specifically restaurants, diners, cafes and pubs. The application provides helpful features that restaurant owners need, such as built in menus and events. Social network integration adds a nice touch that gives restaurant owners more ways to reach out to their customers.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

One of the reasons Happytables is so appealing to restaurant owners is the way the application looks. The tools included allow the user to construct a visually appealing, unique and functional website that will encourage visitors to become patrons. The user friendly design lets anyone create a beautiful web space with little to no website design experience. A number of customization options allow the user to tailor the look of their page to their brand or color scheme.

How does the registration process work?

New users can begin by clicking one of the orange “Create Your Site” buttons found on the Happytables homepage. The form on the next page asks for a full name, email address and password. The next step asks the user for a website name, desired URL (which is a temporary holding place until the user adds their custom domain) and a theme. The user is automatically signed in to their 30 day free trial.

What does it cost to use the application?

After the 30 day free trial has ended, users will have to upgrade to a paying account. Happytables offers its services for $39 per month. The paid subscription includes access to all customization features, unlimited web pages, unlimited bandwidth, the ability to connect to a custom domain, traffic analysis and search engine optimization. Users can purchase a one year subscription for the price of 10 months ($390).

Who would you recommend the application to?

Happytables is a valuable resource for anyone who owns or manages a restaurant. The application makes it easy to create a professional looking website for a restaurant, pub, café or any other eatery. The user can customize the look of their page and try the service free for 30 days. The price is relatively inexpensive for what the user receives, however it may be a little high for a brand new small restaurant business.
